'Econet will not engage in price wars,' says Mboweni

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has indicated that it will not engaging in price wars following the slashing of prices by its competitors, group CE Douglas Mboweni told an AGM today.

Mboweni said engaging in price wars is dangerous to the long term goals of the business and Econet's strategies are sustainable and provide a solid base for the future of the business.
 
"As a business we want a strategy that creates value for shareholders and other stakeholders such as government in a sustainable way. Price slashing is not sustainable.
 
"Our packages are sustainable and provide a solid base for the future of the business," said Mboweni.
