Econet to embark on a massive retrenchment exercise

Econet Wireless will embark on a massive retrenchment exercise as it streamlines its operations in the face of a tough business environment.

The job cuts will be across the board and funding for the exercise has already been approved.

Sources said the figures of those to be affected could run into hundreds.

Econet spokesperson Sure Kamhunga said he was not aware of the planned job cuts and that the true position of the Company will be reflected by the Chief Executive.
