The Zanu-PF leadership has endorsed Elias Musakwa as the party's candidate for Bikita West in the forthcoming harmonised elections.
The Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Rugare Gumbo said this follows the expulsion of former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe employee, Dr Munyaradzi Kereke from the party.
Gumbo said Dr Kereke was expelled for insubordination after he registered as a Zanu-PF candidate for Bikita West constituency in defiance of a directive by the Politburo not to stand as he has pending court cases.
He also said all those who endorsed Dr Kereke's candidature will face disciplinary action.
Earlier this week, the Zanu-PF National Political Commissar Cde Webster Shamu made it clear that those contesting the election as independents should consider themselves automatically expelled from the revolutionary party.
