Zanu PF 2nd Secretary and Vice President, Joice Mujuru says the forthcoming Zanu PF annual National People's Conference in Chinhoyi will provide a platform for the party to take stock of the past year's developments and strategise on service delivery.
The conference comes at a time when the party is celebrating the historic victory after winning the 31 July polls.
The party is in overdrive to raise funds for the conference and this culminated in a dinner held in Harare on Friday night aimed at raising US$3 million.
Speaking at the fundraising dinner, Mujuru, who was guest of honour, said as the party moves forward after winning the elections, political and economic stability should be guiding principles which is why the annual National People's Conference will focus on growing the economy for empowerment and employment premised on the recently launched ZIM ASSET economic blueprint.
"As the ruling party, we should take this opportunity to consolidate the gains of the struggle to strengthen the party, for it's through this unity that Zanu PF can effectively deliver," said Mujuru.
The dinner was held under the theme: 'Growing the Economy for Empowerment and Employment.'
The fundraising was well attended by party officials across the board, with the venue being filled to capacity.
Several individuals and companies pledged funds towards the conference and two vehicles donated by AMC went under the hammer.
Entertainment was provided by the police band and a local dance group.
