Political opportunists trying to hijack vendors - Zanu-PF UK

The Zanu PF United Kingdom Chapter has alleged that there are some political opportunists who are taking advantage of the vendors situation to gain mileage where the traders are being evicted from the streets by Zanu PF government.

"Political opportunists are trying to hijack the Vendor Plight for their own selfish, and narrow parochial agendas," said the Chapter.

"The vendors are our family members. The party in government is only trying to restore order. This is nothing new. From time immemorial, people needed Hawker's Licences to sell in municipal areas."

The chapter said it is the same call being made for people to move to designated areas. Dialogue and cooperation is the way forward.

" But at the end of the day, order needs to be restored," said the chapter.

"The tragedy of this whole thing is the political opportunism which is not only immortal but equally crass. We have seen prayer meetings hijacked, individual family predicaments hijacked. Even funerals have been hijacked by political malcontents. These malcontents never set a political agenda. Their role is to hijack whatever is happening at the point. What next? Hijack Lobola Ceremonies?"
