I don't think he's appeasing anyone at all. Mugabe is just being a realist, he has just confirmed what has been known in Zim all along. Ndebele women are stunningly beautiful as compared to their shona counterparts. Maybe his statement was aimed at trying to create a national coehesion of some sort but then anything Mugabe says or does will undo the monumental damage he has done to Ndebeles in last 34yrs.
