Appalled by the failure of the Harare City Council to clean up Harare and provided efficient service delivery, little known political party, Transform Zimbabwe (TZ), has decided to take the fight to the streets.

TZ recently engaged in a clean-up of Glen View suburb, with its leader, Jacob Ngarivhume, calling out the city fathers for failing to provide simply services such as refuse collection.

Addressing close to 300 residents who attended the clean up, Ngarivhume said it was time residents took the city fathers head on and called for them to be accountable.

He also admonished some residents who are in the habits of randomly littering.

One resident, identified Mai Tsitsi, said that the erratic water supply was a cause of concern, especially when Council religiously sent residents high water bills, for a service it was clearly not providing.

A TZ official, Tendai, said that his party would take the clean-up campaign to Chitungwiza and Mabvuku-Tafara.

Harare is battling with a typhoid outbreak, which has been largely blamed on the failure by the MDC-T led City Council to provide adequate clean water supplies, failure to clean the streets, collect refuge and unclog the city's drainage system.

Ever since reports of the outbreak made headlines, the local MDC-T leadership has been mum on the issue.

Last week, Bulawayo24.com published several pictures of a filthy Mbare township.
