A 67-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo man narrated how his wife of 41 years reduced him to a "sex beggar" by sleeping in pyjamas.

David Nkomo from Pumula East suburb said although he goes to bed wearing nothing at all, his wife, Mary Nkomo, was in the habit of sleeping in her pyjamas, making it difficult for him to have sex with her.

David said his wife had been denying him sex for years for no apparent reason.

"It has been two years now without having sex with my wife despite the fact that we sleep on the same bed.

"I sleep undressed all the time while she wears her pyjamas and this has greatly affected me as a man," complained a seemingly sexually frustrated David.

David said this at the Bulawayo Civil Court while responding to a suit filed by his wife in which she had claimed that her husband was disturbing her peace by allegedly harassing her in front of their grandchildren.

"We have been legally married for the past 41 years.  My husband abuses me emotionally and verbally. He has also been threatening to chase me out of the house. He always insults me in front of our grandchildren using vulgar language.

"I no longer have peace at home and our grandchildren are also now living in fear because of his violent behaviour," said Mary.

She further said her husband was no longer eating and sleeping at home.

"He always comes home late and at times he does not come at all. When he comes he does not eat and when in bed he also refuses to share blankets with me," she said.

In her ruling the presiding magistrate Adelaide Mbeure dismissed the application after the couple who had been going for counselling opted to continue attending the sessions.
