Zanu PF Bulawayo provincial deputy youth chairperson Lungisani Ngwenya was found dead yesterday morning at his Nkulumane home, a development that has reportedly sent shockwaves within the party's structures.

The party's provincial youth chairperson Butholezwe Gatsi said Ngwenya was found dead at about 6am by another Zanu PF member.

He said everyone in the party was shocked as Ngwenya was fit and did not show any sign of illness.

Gatsi said Ngwenya was alone in the room that he was renting in Nkulumane, as his wife and four children had gone to their farm in Bubi District.

He said no burial arrangements had been made as Ngwenya's family had just been informed of the death.

"The body was collected by the police at about 11am and is now at the UBH (United Bulawayo Hospitals) where a post-mortem will be conducted," he said.

Zanu PF provincial chairman Isaac Dakamela said the party province had lost four of its members since the beginning of the year.

"There is a member who lost their child in Nkulumane and as we buried that child, we heard of this sad development," he said.

"The deaths have dealt a huge blow to our party but I would like to urge our members to be strong because the Lord has His reasons."
