Zanu-PF Bulawayo structures have been left divided after party's national commissar Webster Shamu failed to resolve the suspension of provincial chairperson Isaac Dakamela.
Dakamela was suspended three weeks ago for defying the party but politburo member Sikhanyiso Ndlovu came to his defense.
Shamu came to Bulawayo with the intention of restoring Dakamela into his position but was blocked by some senior members who insisted on the chairperson's suspension.
Shamu had to adjourn the deadlocked meeting to a date after the Independence celebrations.
"We have listened to all parties and the meeting will be continued after the Independence celebrations," said Shamu.
"We want to make it clear however, that decisions that are not backed with the constitution will not be supported even if made by the majority. If the minority makes a constitutional decision then it stands."
The entire meeting was chaotic with party members hackling each other.
Provincial member Joseph Tshuma, a close confidant of Ndlovu was quickly dismissed as a thief when he tried to defend Dakamela.
