Zanu-PF threatens members with arrest

Zanu-PF has threatened its members with arrest for allegedly diverting party funds.
The party recently distributed membership cards to all its districts to be sold to new members but some districts are failing to account for the money.
The development has prompted party national commissar Webster Shamu to give a stern warning to those who had diverted money from selling the cards.
"Let me remind members who are yet to deposit money belonging to the party to do so quickly or face arrest," said Shamu addressing a recent meeting in Matabeleland North.
"Those who have used that money are urged to sell their goats or cattle and pay back the party money. If you have not sold any cards please inform us and not falsify information."
Zanu-PF is engaged in a chaotic restructuring exercise in preparation for possible elections either this or next year.
However, the restructuring exercise has widened divisions in the already shambolic Zanu-PF structures.
