A 25-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo man is feared to have been left with a permanent injury that could render him impotent after his crown jewels were pulled by a 49-year-old woman whom he allegedly attempted to rape.
The woman (name withheld) in a "classic" way of fighting back her sexual nemesis was heard when David Zenda from Nguboyenja was brought before Bulawayo magistrate Miss Marylene Mtshina.
Zenda was being charged with attempted rape as defined in Section 65 as read with Section 189 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.
He was not formally charged and was remanded in custody to 3 May.
Circumstances are that on 17 April at around 10pm the complainant who stays in Thorngroove and was coming from town dropped off from a commuter omnibus at Happy Valley Tavern before proceeding to her place of residence.
It is reported that on her way home, she was approached by Zenda who kindly greeted her but she did not respond.
The seemingly sex-starved Zenda went on to request the complainants phone number but the latter who became suspicious reportedly refused to entertain the alleged rapist and continued with her journey.
It is alleged the accused kept on stalking the complainant and the woman sensing danger reportedly went to the other side of the road but Zenda followed her.
When he caught up with the complainant Zenda is alleged to have forcibly grabbed her, pulled her dress up and kicked her on the legs until she fell down.
While she was lying down, the accused is reported to have sat on her back and opened the zip of his pair of trousers.
The brave woman, as a fight back is alleged to have removed one of her shoes and beat Zenda on his head.
Realising that hitting her alleged abuser with a shoe was not enough to restrain him, the woman allegedly pulled Zenda's manhood.
Following the woman's heroic "tug-of-war" with Zenda's crown jewels he immediately fell down leading the complainant to run away from the scene.
Zenda's freedom was scuttled the day the country marked its 33rd independence anniversary after the woman positively identified him while coming from the police station.
