Welshman Ncube led MDC, Zapu today announced their coalition in Bulawayo.
Addressing a press conference at the Indaba Room at the Rainbow Hotel today, the Zapu leader, Dumiso Dabengwa urged the media not to distort the alliance agreement so that they don't confuse the electorate who are the citizens of Zimbabwe.
Welshman Ncube said his MDC and ZAPU agreed that in any constituency and ward, where one party has not fielded a candidate the party will mobilise its members and supporters to vote for the other party's candidate.
Dabengwa disclosed that he met Roy Bennet in South Africa and that they did not agree on his coalition idea because it already had structures that were not in favour of ZAPU.
"I have been having a lot of offers, Bennet tried and l think we did not understand each other and the on coalition structures, Bennet already had his which were not in our favour. Tsvangirai coalition approach in the past six days was overtaken by events," said Dabengwa.
"Last week MDC-T President Morgan Tsvangirai approached Zapu and l did not request for anything and we did not agree on anything because the coalition seemed to be in favour of MDC-T," added Dabengwa.
He said that they started negotiating with MDC in the past six months and the six days of MDC-T approach is weak.
