More high profile MDC resignations

The Bulawayo Province Youth League Secretary of the Welshman Ncube MDC, Ntando Ndlovu has resigned from the party.

In a letter addressed to the Bulawayo Province Secretary and made available to Bulawayo24 News, Ndlovu cites numerous reasons for his resignation. Ndlovu is the second MDC leader to resign from the party in a space of 24 hours following that of the party's House of Assembly candidate for Insiza South. The party continues to lose members now almost on a daily basis leaving observers wondering what is really going on in the once vibrant party.

Unedited copy of Ndlovu's resignation letter as made available to the media by a source very close to Ntandoi Ndlovu. The source is extremely undoubtable as he is also a member of the Bulawayo Province Youth Assembly leadership and sounds like he is also on his way out.

Dear Madam

Re:Resignation from the MDC

I hereby advise your office of my resignation from the office of the secretary of the Youth Assembly and as a member of the MDC with immediate effect. This is due to the following flimsy, baseless, malicious, stupid and foolish allegations preferred against me.

1. The allegations really to me are a dogs breakfast in the sense tht at your PEC meeting you alleged that lam architecting the down fall of the main wing PEC and I am engaged in activities meant to install a new executive led by a Mazibisa. you further went on to allege that I was involved in a meeting to plot the said strategy at Lapf house and I hence forged numerous signatures in a certain petition which I certainly do not know of. In Bulawayo 24, you allege that I have brought the party into disrepute and used purpotedly wrong language toward the leadership. In today's Chronicle you again allege that I was working closely with Charles Mpofu to cause confusion within the party. The said varying allegations have made it clear to me that you guys really are on a witch hunting expedition against my person. The so called disciplinary committee neither had the decency to actually conduct a preliminary hearing which to me is a standard procedure to ascertain the gravity of the matter but acted haphazadly.

2. Handling of the disciplinary matter
I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the so called disciplinary hearing will not produce a fair outcome mainly because I have been presumed guilty before the matter has been heard, I have been subjected to a media hearing and convicted guilty in the court of public opinion. The spokesperson of the party who doubles up as the secretary of the disciplinary committee made it clear as early as wednesday that I "am not clean "whatever that meant. The said letter informing me of my suspension three days on has not yet been delivered to me, I have tried countless times particulary through your office and this has not yielded anything this far. This convince me that the disciplinary hearing will be really a farce.

3. I am convinced beyond doubt that under the current circumstances whereby certain individuals in the disciplinary committee are acting as drama queens through the abuse of the disciplinary process, courting needless negative publicity for the party, I am of the opinion that it will be extremely impossible to rebuild the party in the near future.

I Joined the MDC voluntarily and I leave the party voluntarily as I can't be part of a system worse than Fascism. The party indeed is behaving like a pig that is now devouring on its own children.

Former Comrade
Ntando Ndlovu
