Honourable Fletcher Dulin Ncube whom we bid farewell today was one of a rare breed of politicians facing extinction in this country. He was a man that did what was right at the right time for the right cause that is the love of zimbabwe.

He is a heroe of the fight for liberation and freedom of Zimbabwe from the colonial regime. He is a heroe of democracy in this country who fought hard for the democratic space which was being eroded by zanu pf.

I came to hear of this man towards 1999 MDC congress when people were brainstorming of people to place in leadership positions. For us in Harare province led by Senator Makuyana then,we had no doubt that he was the right person for the Treasurer position,a position was later elected into.

We then served together as members of Parliament for two terms and it was from this close range that I truly appreciated and admired the man. He was cool, calm and composed but above all he was principled.

He was the STILL WATERS that ran deeper and often overlooked when people focused on flowing waters which just tinkled the surface.

When others in the leadership of the MDC started diverting from the founding values and principles of the party it was people like Baba Dulin Ncube, the late Gibson Sibanda, Welshman Ncube and others who fought for the values and principles of the party. The differences led to the split of the party in 2005. Some of us who knew fully well that we would lose our seats in parliament decided to stick to the values and principles of the party thanks to the leadership and guidance of Baba Dulin Ncube.

Hon Dulin Ncube is a heroe and in a mormal country he deserved to be given a heroe status. Sadly and painfully though, people that least deserve to be heroes are buried at the national shrine when true heroes such as Hon Dulin Ncube are represented by the tomb of the unknown soldier .

We salute you Honourable Dulin Ncube and we thank you for all you did for us and for Zimbabwe.
