A Bulawayo man told a magistrate that he stole property worth $160 from a suspected prostitute's house because the woman fell asleep before they could have sex, after he paid her $20.
The man, Lungile Ndlovu (22) said Siphathisiwe Zondo (40) who is almost twice his age fell into a deep alcohol induced sleep before she could deliver.
The two met at Mambo Beer Garden in Tshabalala Suburb on Valentine's Day.
Ndlovu said they went to Zondo's house in the same suburb where he was promised a night "he would not forget."
The night turned out memorable for the wrong reasons as Ndlovu ended up being arrested for theft.
He told the court that when they got to Zondo's house, she passed out in a drunken stupor on the bed.
Ndlovu said he tried everything he could think of to revive her, including slapping her and pouring water on her, without success.
He appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Temba Chimiso and pleaded guilty to theft.
He was remanded in custody to today for trial.
The Magistrate gave Ndlovu a tongue lashing for sleeping around with prostitutes saying he risked contracting HIV.
Prosecuting Tony Kamudyariwa told the court that on February 14 at around 10PM, Ndlovu hired Zondo for a one night stand.
The court heard that on arrival at Zondo's house, she suddenly fell asleep before delivering the services Ndlovu had paid her for.
Kamudyariwa said at around 2AM, Ndlovu gave up trying to wake up Zondo and stole her television set, DVD player and two cell phones and left.
The court heard that when Zondo woke up, she discovered her property was missing and went to make a police report.
Police made a follow up and arrested Ndlovu in the wee hours of the morning as he was leaving Mabo Beer Garden with another prostitute.
