MDC renewal team threatens to expel Mhlanga

The MDC renewal team has threatened to expel former Pumula legislator Albert Mhlanga if he does not heed the call to withdraw his candidature from the June 10 by-elections citing an uneven playing field.

Speaking on the sidelines of the party's policy conference, National Chairman Samuel Sipepa Nkomo said they will never compromise their position regarding election participation.

"The party position is very simple and clear, we do not support any one of us to stand as an independent," Nkomo said.

Nkomo said the party did not give Mhlanga the greenlight to contest.

Mhlanga was present at the conference were officials pushed for his ouster.
