A 72 woman in Bulawayo has been referred to Mlondolozi mental detention institution after she allegedly killed a fellow resident she had visited and asked to spend the night at the home.
Bulawayo High Court Judge Justice Maxwell Takuva ruled that Thina Ndou who appears to be mentally unstable be referred to Mlondolozi after the state represented by Sifiso Ndlovu and the defence lawyer Thamsanqa Khumalo agreed and prayed for a special verdict to be passed against her.
Agreed facts were that on December 12 2011 Ndou visited the now deceased (83) who is not named in the agreed facts, and asked for a place to sleep and she was offered. During the night when they went to sleep Ndou work up and stoned her to death. She did not run away but waited until the morning. She was later arrested by the police.
Agreed facts states that Ndou has been examined by Doctor Elena Poskotchinova a psychiatrist whose findings are that the accused should not be held liable for her conduct as she is suffering from chronic schizophrenia and thus he pleads not guilty to murder.
