Woman assaulted for refusing to have sex

A Chitungwiza woman has taken a man to court after he assaulted her for refusing to have sex with him.
Newman Mahiwa assaulted Janet Katsvaru after he bought her drinks assuming she was a sex worker who would pay him back by having sexual intercourse with him.
He pleaded guilt to the assault charge when he appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Takunda Mutetwa.
The
court was told that Newman bought Janet some drinks anticipating that
after that he would engage in sex with her but when he demanded sex the
woman refused and he assaulted her.
A report to the police led to his arrest.
