MDC-T fears that dislodging a well resourced Zanu-PF will be difficult

Zanu-PF'S move to acquire a fleet of campaign vehicles for the 2018 elections has sent the opposition into panic - as it fears that dislodging a well-resourced ruling party would be difficult.
MDC-T deputy treasurer-general, Charlton Hwende posted on Facebook that those in the opposition ranks should start mobilising resources to take on Zanu-PF in the 2018 elections.
"Today, I saw the new cars that Zanu-PF imported from South Africa for the 2018 campaign. I saw two car carriers with about 12 vehicles, but reports say that they have imported over 200 vehicles," he said.
"Obviously, the bond notes are the source of funding, but what does it mean for the opposition? Without resources Zanu-PF will win again thanks to you and me, we expect Morgan Tsvangirai and the opposition to do miracles and remove Zanu-PF from power using their own personal resources, while we are busy insulting the opposition on social media," he said.
In the 2013 elections, Zanu-PF splashed over $10 million on cars, with each candidate in the 210 constituencies getting a top of the range car to use in the campaign, while the opposition relied mostly on provincial resources and individual candidates contributing on their own.
Zanu-PF secretary for finance, Obert Mpofu denied that his party was acquiring a new fleet of vehicles for the 2018 elections, saying he has not processed such a payment, before he referred further questions to the party's secretary for transport, Oppah Muchinguri.
"I don't know what you are talking about, you can kindly talk to Muchinguri, who is the secretary for transport in the party. Maybe she knows something regarding the vehicles you are talking about. What I can tell you, Zanu-PF will win election come 2018 because we are a people's party. We do what the people want not because we have resources. In any case, if we are able to mobilise resources, is it a crime?"
