Zimbabwe: Change is inevitable

Change is inevitable and Zimbabwe is no exception. The wheels of change are in motion, the situation in Zimbabwe is ripe for change. Things have been simmering for sometime and sooner or later a big change is coming in Zimbabwe.
Change is the only certainty in store for Zimbabweans but many wonder what sort of change that will be. Some change is progressive while sometimes change may be viewed as retrogressive. One gets the feeling that in Zimbabwe any change is welcome as it cannot get worse compared to the chaos presided over by the Zanupf government for the last 36 years. The British have had Brexit and the Americans have installed Donald Trump as their President-elect. In both cases the jury is still out on whether change will bring the desired benefits. The reality is that they now have to deal with what is in store for them as a result of their choices.
Not so long ago, one deluded man stated that a Blackman would not rule Zimbabwe, not in a thousand years! The rest, as they say, is history. Zanupf and Robert Mugabe, in turn have become intoxicated with power and now mistakenly believe that Zanupf will rule till the end of the world as known to modern man. The winds of change are blowing closer to home and no amount of denial will stop the imminent change in Zimbabwe. Zanupf will soon be history too.
The notorious party is fragmenting into unrecognisable minute parts and soon it will be no more. The party has practised self-destruction for too long and is now hurtling towards a welcome end. Corruption has destroyed the economy and there is not much left to steal hence the party is turning on itself. The Bond notes are fuelling the problem as the fat cats in Zanupf prefer the US dollar. Nor will stealing elections help for with each fraudulent election result, the party of thieves is further exposed. The last two elections have seen Zanupf's incompetence exposed. The situation is worse after each election and this is the catalyst for change. Based on this one can safely predict that Zanupf will rig the 2018 election and the masses will face worse problems. At that point the masses will have no choice but to revolt big time. This scenario will usher change of a different nature.
One also hopes for a different kind of change where a credible opposition wins the election and has the guts to take over power unlike the previous winner in 2008 where a timid and hesitant Morgan Tsvangirai allowed Mugabe to recover from a shock electoral loss. This time round the situation might be different as the coalition of democrats in the form of CODE is likely to boost the opposition camp. Similarly the opposition should fight any electoral fraud come what may. Parties that have already signed up to CODE are in pole position to bring about the much desired change. Those still sitting on the fence should make up their minds quick and join other progressive forces. Older parties like Zapu and MDC will bring in the much needed experience while the newer parties should contribute fresh ideas on how to dethrone the illegitimate regime in Zimbabwe. Change is upon the people of Zimbabwe and the sweet scent of victory is in the air. Soon the people of Zimbabwe will become truly free and become prosperous again.
