WATCH: Mugabe's succession issue very complex says Jacob Mudenda

Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda has said Zanu PF succession is a complex issue but party members should not have too much ambition to be president.
Mudenda was dispatched by Zanu PF to South Africa to attend the African National Congress (ANC) 105 anniversary celebrations today.
The succession issue has split Zanu PF as President Robert Mugabe 93 next month and in power since 1980 is silent on his successor.
He was in December endorsed during the party conference in Masvingo as the 2018 presidential candidate.
"The issue of succession is a complex one but my belief is that as they say in Ndebele akulalanga eliphumayo elinye lingakatshoni.
"So there must be an element of discipline within the party so that the system itself produces the leaders that must succeed the current leadership.
"Its not so much succession of the leader but also succession within the organization".
He said political ambitions should be curtailed.
Mudenda said the ANC has been an inspiration to all movements in Africa and beyond and as such Zanu PF has taken a leaf from the struggle and that is to maintain the vision, the mission as well as ensure that we come up with strategies to achieve the intended goal of the organization.
