MDC-T deputy secretary general Tapiwa Mashakada has said in all the rallies that Zanu-PF addresses, members always chant slogans against MDC-T and its leader Morgan Tsvangirai because it is the only feared and genuine opposition political party.
"Why is it that at every rally or public gathering all Zanu-PF - speaker after speaker will, without fail, say 'pasi ne MDC pasi naTsvangirai'. Why don't they also name other 67 political parties and their leaders? Doesn't this tell you about who rules the political roost?," he said.
"Clearly the MDC is the biggest party in Zimbabwe and the official opposition. What is the quarrel about the leadership of the coalition all about. I personally don't blame these other political parties but I lay the blame on us in the MDC because we don't realize how much Zanu PF fears us and how much Zimbabweans support us."
"We are underestimating our own tried and tested strength over many years. In as much as there is strength in unity we cannot continue to chase shadows. Let us go back to what we know best - organizing and mobilizing the people to go and register to vote."
He said Morgan Tsvangirai has never and will never ever lose a free and fair election.
"Our call is for electoral and political reforms and internationally supervised free fair and credible elections," he said.
