The Zanu PF Politburo met in Harare this Wednesday for the first time this year with a brief from the Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development, Dr Joseph made on the crop situation in the country.
Speaking to reporters, Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Rugare Gumbo said Minister Made touched on the input supply which he said is erratic, a situation which he said will negatively affect crop yield this season.
COPAC co-Chairperson, Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana and Deputy co-Chairperson, Monica Mutsvangwa also briefed the Politburo on the progress made so far on the drafting of the country's constitution.
Gumbo said he is not happy with the way COPAC has been behaving in publicising the national report, which they think is the basis for drafting a new constitution.
The national report is what was captured from the people during the outreach programme.
He said a new draft constitution will be availed to the people of Zimbabwe and a referendum is anticipated to follow.
Gumbo however said with or without the new constitution, general elections will be held this year because the inclusive government's life span has since expired as stipulated in the Global Political Agreement.
