A political analyst Pedzisai Ruhanya has said the military involvement in the ruling Zanu PF has kept the regime in power and if it stays off as President Robert Mugabe has said, the party will lose power.

The security sector has been seen mingling in the Zanu PF politics and are the pawns that have helped the ruling party to hold on to power even after it got defeated in 2008.

Ruhanya said if the military stays out of politics as Mugabe now suggests and as it should be, Mugabe and his party won't be in power tomorrow.

"Most authoritarian regimes fall not because of the strength of opposition but deep internal divisions and fractions especially former liberation movements.

"As it stands all these Zanu PF factions including Mugabe will be losers. The military ZONE that the power struggles has entered is arguably the final lap," he said.
