Villagers ordered to join and vote for Zanu-PF or risk being beaten

A Zanu PF member in Mashonaland West-Hurungwe West Ward 24 has reportedly called for the beating of villagers to force them to join the ruling party ahead of 2018 election.

Heal Zimbabwe Trust reported that recently, Felix Maramba, a Zanu PF member intimidated community members at a Zanu PF restructuring meeting conducted at Tapota homestead in Maregere village.

"He ordered that all opposition members should be beaten up and forced to defect to Zanu PF before the 2018 elections," said HZT.

The trust said Mashonaland West-Kariba Ward 12 a Zanu PF District member identified only as Chisvetu intimidated community members during a community meeting recently in the ward centre.

"He highlighted that all known opposition supporters will be beaten up in the upcoming 2018 elections," said the trust.

The trust said Mashonaland East-Mudzi North Ward 17 recently Mudzi North Member of Parliament Hon Milton Kachepa intimidated community members at Musawu Primary school during a Zanu PF restructuring meeting.

"He ordered that everyone in the ward must vote for Zanu PF in the 2018 elections. He further highlighted that all those who defied risk being beaten up. To note is that people are being forced to attend these restructuring meetings even if one is a known opposition supporter," said the trust.
