Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has told Zanu-PF party members in Bulawayo to stop aligning themselves with either of the two vice presidents saying the point person in the party is the President Robert Mugabe.
Addressing party members in Bulawayo, Mphoko said as vice presidents they were appointed by President Mugabe and no one should take sides on which of the vice presidents they should support as this is against the ethos of the party.
On the succession issue Mphoko said it is true that the President as an elderly statesman cannot allow a leadership vacuum in the party and will ensure that a plan is put in place to manage the situation when the time comes.
The Vice President also called on Tshinga Dube to extricate himself from the Mutsvangwa group of war veterans as they are no longer working with the party.
The Zanu-PF Bulawayo Imbizo constituency was also called by the Vice President Mphoko to reign- in all party members and douse the divisions that are threatening the revolutionary party ahead of the 2018 general election.
He said the party's agenda is to ensure that they win next year's election.
