Norton legislator Temba P Mliswa has claimed that the late Vice President Simon Muzenda before he died suggested that the now Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa must succeed President Robert Mugabe.
The claims come at a time when the factional fights in the ruling Zanu PF between the Lacoste faction led by Mnangagwa and the Generation 40 led by first lady Grace Mugabe seem to have turned bloody amid revelations the food poisoning has become the tool for getting rid of the rivals in the party.
Recent report claim that Mnangagwa ate poisoned food during the Gwanda Presidential interface rally which led him to be air lifted to South Africa for medical treatment.
Also reports claim that Masvingo provincial affairs minister Shuvai Mahofa who died recently succumbed to the food poisoning which she suffered sometime back.
Through his twitter, Mliswa said Muzenda suggested to the President that "ED" (Emmerson Dambudzo) must succeed as the next President.
"So as a correction, ED and Muzenda were in very good books," he twitted.
"If my History serves me well, Muzenda (the late) had a good relationship with ED, I am not sure of where the President is getting his views."
