A political commentator Vince Musewe has said the revolutionary hegemony is coming to an end come 2018 election when Zanu PF will be defeated by the coalition of opposition political parties.
HE said the period of political and economic hegemony by a liberation elite packaged as revolutionaries must now come to an end as from 2018.
"We will create a new Zimbabwe where we unleash the youth and education dividends deliberately suppressed and uncashed by Zanu PF because of their fear of change and the emergence of a vibrant educated and productive middle class," he said.
"As we do that we must shed all limitations pessimism hopelessness and the inability to think and dream big outside the Zanu PF political narrative which has arrested our development. We need radical inclusive economic transformation and unprecedented growth trajectories to catch up from 37 years of regression."
He said this will require new conversations about our potential and possibilities.
"Yes we can create a $100bn economy within 15 years driven by Rapid agriculture revival at the centre of which must be value add and reduction of food imports, High investment in exploration and valuation and leverage of our natural resources especially local beneficiation of precious metals, aggressive tourism services underpinned by infrastructure rehabiltation and regional integration," he said.
"Rapid industrialisation focusing on producing and exporting high end manufactured goods to SADC and COMESA markets with 600m consumers. These are just a few of the ideas on the table. Time to think and dream big. United another Zimbabwe is possible!"
