The
state broadcaster ZBC might have captured one of the rarest moments in
Zimbabwean politics yesterday, the moment president Mugabe arrived at
the Harare International Airport when he 'blasted' vice president Emmerson
Mnangagwa in public.
On arrival from South Africa Mugabe was welcome by Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko among other government ministers and officials. All of a sudden the 93-year-old leader seemed to be infuriated at Mnangagwa publicly.
In the video the president is seen shaking hands with other officials but when he gets to Mnangagwa he shakes his hand and then 'hits' him on the shoulder while saying something.
According to sources the president was not amused by Mnangagwa's remarks while at the memorial of the late Shuvai Mahofa in Masvingo where he insinuated that what befell Mahofa while in Victoria Falls was the same fate he suffered when he was in Gwanda indicating that he was poisoned.
Mnangagwa had also indicating that he was getting fed up of being made a punching bag by those who joined the party who think they can just come in and push those who formed it out.
He seemed to be insinuating that he can not take it anymore that juniors to him would always rant and attack him willy nily without him responding.
Mugabe seemed to be accusing Mnangagwa of changing goal posts in the allegations of food poising which caused him (Mnangagwa) to vomit blood before he was airlifted to South Africa for medical assistance.
Earlier on Mnangagwa had indicated that he was not food poisoned and he did not eat ice Cream from Alpha and Omega as had been reported. Though he still insists he never eat the ice cream but he says he is convinced that he was poisoned.
Mnangagwa seemed not to be taking the attacks likely any more as he was seen as well pointing finger at his leader.
In the video the 93-year-old carries on greeting other and before the end of the video he is also seen shouting at Mnangagwa before get into him limo.
