A political commentator Chenhamo Mutengure has claimed that former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa was working for the external forces against Zanu PF government leading to his ouster.
"Many have been asking since the sacking of the disgraced and discredited Former Vice President Mnangagwa why did Mnangagwa have to push for his immediate elevation? Why didn't he just wait out President Mugabe who is now 93 years of age? Why did Mnangagwa provide ammunition to his enemies so easily to attack him and make an easy case for his sacking and his imminent expulsion from Zanu PF," he said through his face book post.
"I have studied Mnangagwa for a long time and I must say he is amongst the most astute politicians in Zimbabwe.Second only to President Mugabe.Had he been against any other enemy Mnangagwa would have easily won hands down. But he chose to take on his own mentor. But the question is why?Why this suicidal move? The answer is very simple,Mnangagwa was working for external elements. In the eyes of the West they are on the verge of completely losing the war on Zimbabwe.Slowly but surely the country is emerging from the doldrums of economic chaos that has characterised Zimbabwe since the turn of the century and with every day that passes with President Mugabe in charge and with each year that passes with improved Agricultural yields is a day it becomes even more difficult to reverse the gains made in Zimbabwe."
He said hence President Mugabe in their eyes has to go now and Mnangagwa was under instruction to accelerate this process, hence his Blitz on the President and other people who were opposed to his ascendancy.
"Another thing a President Mugabe victory on 2018 gives him ample time to resolve the succession issue and resolve it in such a manner that consolidated Zimbabwe's revolution. That is the West's worst nightmare. So Mnangagwa had to take over now and ensure easy reversal of these," he said.
"Now the question that arises is why did Mnangagwa see the need to align with the West? The answer is simple. There is a lot of money to be made in the form of Western bribes in exchange for Zimbabwe's resources. But not only that the West guarantees his place on the throne."
