Mugabe and family yet to confirm house arrest

The 93-year-old president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, has not yet officially confirmed that he is under house arrest following what appears as a military take over that took place last night.

The Zimbabwe military this morning said Mugabe and him family are safe and sound, but they denied that they had taken over power.

Soldiers have been deployed to the streets of the capital Harare. Schools and other businesses are operating as usual, a source told Bulawayo24.com this morning.
