Professor Jonathan Moyo has been lambasted by Twitter users following the resignation of President Mugabe.
Moyo tweeted that while the violence of the gun is real, powerful and devastating, it is always a temporary and empty dead end.
"While the violence of the gun is real, powerful & devastating, it is always a temporary & empty deadend in that it is not as everlasting as the power of generational renewal which is unstoppable as a permanent force of history & progressive ideas. #MugabeLegacy," reads Moyo's tweet.
This was Moyo's second tweet after his release from military custody.
His tweet received a barrage of comments, one Twitter user @nyamwanza responded: "How can you talk of generational renewal when you were clamouring for the 93 year old to be zanu's presidential candidate for 2018 and pushing for his wife to be the VP for your own selfish ends? You are part of the pple who triggered army intervention in Zim. Please!."
@sitholebb said: "Go quietly. Let us enjoy the new era without you."
Another user said "Jonathan we thank you very much for giving Grace & Robert Mugabe all the evil advice. You made it possible to split ZANU PF from within. Without your hand, G40 would have never pulled this through. Now jail awaits u Mr Great Thief."
