Norton member of Parliament Temba Mliswa took to Twitter to explain why he knelt before the commander of Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) General Constantino Chiwenga and his wife Marry at the just ended ZANU PF Extra Ordinary Congress in Harare.
Mliswa who is now an independent candidate was seen by many as bootlicking to president Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa's government so that he gets a post in ZANU PF.
Mliswa tweeted, "This has caused a lot of noise. Chekutanga, Ubuntu taught me to respect my elders and to never talk above everyone. Leaving the fact that he is a General, educate me - How else was I supposed to talk to him on such a Platform."
A commenter identified as Hardlife Mudzingwa questioned Mliswa on the picture and in what capacity he attend the Congress in.
"Hon Mliswa I saw your pic at Zanupf congress. Did you attend as an independent invited guest or as a ZANU pf delegate. Its not as big issue but I just want to know whether you are still an independent cadre or a Zanupf cadre."
He responded, " As an independent invited - as a LOCAL guest as they put it."
"Thank you for asking and not assuming"
Another commenter questioned if he had intentions of joining any party or forming his own party before he refuted both claims.
"Hournarable after your attending of the congress what do you think could have been done better? In terms of how it rolled out and the appointments. And also out of curiosity do you have any intentions of joining any party of forming y....,? "question tweeter user revai
