Zanu-PF Harare province has embarked on residential stands audits, following revelations that there are some bogus housing co-operatives that are allegedly swindling people without giving them proper title deeds.

Addressing members of different housing co-operatives in Mabvuku ON Saturday, Zanu-PF Harare Provincial Secretary for Lands, Eric Pfumvuti, said they are starting stands auditing on Tuesday in a bid to thwart bogus housing co-operatives that are swindling people of their money.

Pfumvuti reiterated the need for transparency in distribution of housing stands to members of co-operatives.

"It is very disheartening to note that many members of the co-operatives have no proper housing documents. Some people have more than two residential stands which is not good at all. We want people to be free from corruption," he said.

Committee member of Harare province, Jayson Pasadi, warned people who are abusing their positions in the party.

Pasadi said this following complaints by many members of housing co-operatives who raised concerns about the way housing stands are distributed as some acquire more than two stands.

Zanu-PF has embarked on housing co-operative in a bid to provide enough accommodation to people in cities and towns.
