The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) says the struggle to ensure the country was freed from white oppression will forever endear them to Zanu-PF.
The Secretary-General of the association, Victor Matemadanda who was addressing members of the group in Mutare said those who fought for the country's liberation stand guided by the principle that led them to go and fight for Zimbabwe's liberation.
Matemadanda said the shared vision the veterans of the struggle had during the war makes them aligned to Zanu-PF's ideology and will vote for the party in the harmonised elections.
"During the liberation struggle there were many people that we were with who never saw the independent Zimbabwe. It would be unfair for us to abandon the revolutionary party whose principles we went to war for at this crucial time," he said.
The commitment to support Zanu-PF by the war veterans come as preparations for the 30 July harmonised elections have gathered momentum.
