MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa concluded the first round of rallies in Matabeleland North Province over the weekend where he expressed fears that the party name and symbols wrangle might cause serious confusion which might plunge the party into defeat.
The MDC Alliance leader held rallies in Binga, Hwange and Victoria Falls over the weekend, where he tried to sell the so-called development and urbanisation of rural areas (DURA) programme to the villagers and also raised fears the wrangle with the Thokozani Khupe camp might cause serious confusion which might benefit Zanu-PF in the forthcoming polls.
"We are still fighting her because she is trying to steal our vote by confusing voters so that they vote by mistake. In the presidential race, she might not cause much confusion but we are worried about parliamentary and council elections," he said.
At Chinotimba Stadium in Victoria Falls, Chamisa acknowledged that the work before him is not easy given his greenness.
"I am aware that the task ahead is not easy. I have young shoulders carrying a big burden," he said.
Chamisa reiterated his promises that once elected into office, foreigners will come to work in Zimbabwe as domestic workers and establish a modern transport system with spaghetti roads and bullet trains.
The MDC Alliance leader, who was accompanied by the party's Deputy Secretary General, Paurina Mupariwa during all the rallies in Matabeleland North in the absence of top leaders from the other parties in the alliance who are unhappy with his decision to unilaterally field candidates in areas reserved for the alliance partners, is set to descend on Midlands Province this week.
