The Dumiso Dabengwa led Zimbabwe African People's Union (ZAPU) has clarified its deal with the MDC Alliance, saying the agreement does not mean the party is now part of the Chamisa led Alliance.
The ZAPU party which continued with its door-to-door campaign in Entumbane-Emakhandeni constituency in Bulawayo today said its support for the MDC Alliance presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa should not be misconstrued to mean the party is now a member of the grouping.
ZAPU spokesperson Mr Thembani Maphosa clarified the position while hinting that his party will be given some quota system seats after elections under an agreement they brokered with the Alliance partners.
ZAPU Entumbane-Emakhandeni House of Assembly designate Mr Fortune Msebele said he is confident of victory while promising the electorate that he will change the constituency for better once elected into power.
ZAPU has only fielded 89 candidates for the House of Assembly seats out of a possible 210 with the party saying it backs Mr Chamisa's presidential bid as it failed to field any candidate for the vacancy.
