A high-powered Zanu-PF delegation led by Politburo member Munyaradzi Machacha descends on Chinhoyi today where the ruling party intends to train polling agents from all 22 constituencies in Mashonaland West Province.
According to provincial secretary for security Tommy Mwanza, the training workshop will be held at the UFI Church in Chinhoyi.
He said the training aims at equipping the polling agents with various voting techniques ahead of the July 30 harmonised elections. Mwanza is also the Zanu-PF provincial chief elections agent for Mashonaland West Province.
"The training workshop is going to be conducted by Machacha, the principal of Chitepo Ideological College and we hope to orient all our agents with the party's ideologies."
He said the party is expecting more than 2 000 polling agents to attend the training. Zanu-PF had initially proposed to have at least two agents per polling station, but later increased the number to three for effective monitoring.
The party has fielded candidates in all the wards and constituencies of Mashonaland West Province and is expecting a resounding victory.
"We have candidates in all the wards and constituencies representing the party where we are expecting to win resoundingly," he said.
"However, victory can also be certain if we orient all our agents well so that they are not corrupted during the poll day," he said.
