Police surround Tendai Biti's mother's house

There are reports that five police vehicles were surrounding Tendai Biti's mother's house last night.

Biti's lawyer told SABC News that the mother is not a politician and those with issues against Biti should target him directly.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) called Biti and MDC Youth leader Happymore Chidziva to hand themselves in so that they could assist the police with their investigations.

However, at a press conference on Thursday at his law offices, Biti said his lawyers had gone to the police where they were informed that no one had summoned Biti to the station.

Biti professed ignorance about why the police would want to talk to him as he had committed no crime. At a press conference, Charity Charamba insisted that the CID Law and Order still needed to interview Biti because the police had not talked to him at all.
