Two former Zanu-PF legislators had their party vehicles seized by party youths after they defected to the opposition National Patriotic Front (NPF).

Former Pumula and Nkulumane MPs Godfrey Malaba and Killion Sibanda reportedly defected to the NPF and Zanu-PF youths responded by seizing their party-given Ford Everest vehicles which were issued to the two in the run-up to the 2013 elections.

The ruling party's Bulawayo administration secretary Eliphas Mashava confirmed the development in an interview with NewZimbabwe.com.

"We have repossessed vehicles from two comrades in Bulawayo province who have crossed the floor to NPF," he said.

"The vehicles are still party properties because the two have not finished paying for the cars."

Sources said the vehicles were (violently) seized from the ex-MPs in central Bulawayo.
