At a belated ZANU-PF Christmas party held in Mbare over the weekend, Zanu-PF supporters were urged not to retaliate the acts of violence perpetrated against them in recent weeks but should instead shame MDC-T and its sponsors by voting resoundingly for the revolutionary party in the anticipated elections.

The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Cde Didymus Mutasa, who is also Zanu-PF Secretary for Administration, said Zanu-PF is a peaceful revolutionary party.

"We should not retaliate against the perpetrators of violence but instead use the ballot in favour of the revolutionary party to put to shame MDC-T and its sponsors who want to tarnish the image of the country," he said.

Secretary for Security in the Politburo, Cde Sidney Sekeramayi warned the MDC-T against working with hostile nations to destabilise the country, saying it is not acceptable as this affects development.

Zanu PF Deputy Secretary for Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment and the candidate for the party in the last elections, Cde Tendai Savanhu said the people made a mistake in the 2008 harmonised elections and they have since realised that Zanu PF is a people oriented party that has the interests of the nation at heart.

The celebrations were attended by several Politburo Members including Retired General Solomon Mujuru,  Mashonaland Central Province Chairman, Cde Dickson Mafios, Mashonaland West Chairman, Cde Robert Sikanyika, Harare Provincial Chairman, Ambassador Amos Midzi, Central Committee members, Youth League and Women's League members.

The disadvantaged members of the Mbare society were also presented food hampers, blankets and other groceries.
