Komichi sucked in MDC Mayors Saga

The fight over suspension of mayors by the Chamisa faction of MDC has got more uglier with Co-Vice President Morgan Komichi entering the fray.
Speaking to our correspondent in Harare today, Komichi endorsed the suspension of Mayors and Deputy Mayors who were elected outside the party whipping system.
"The Mayors and deputies who were suspended by the party remain suspended and this is the party position," Komichi said.
Komichi is widely viewed by MDC structured as Chamisa's blue eyed boy who supports everything that Chamisa says and decides.
Komichi s statement come a day after the Secretary General Douglas Mwonzora issued a statement overturning the suspension of the officials calling it illegal and a non event.
In a letter addressed to Provincial Chairpersons Biti said, "Please note that the Provincial Executive has no power to expel any member from the Party. This means that it has no power to recall an elected official of the Party. Such power is reserved for the National Disciplinary Committee headed by the National Chairperson and the National Council after due process.
"Therefore the purported suspensions and expulsions do not comply with the Party constitution and have to be set aside. They are null and void."
Yesterday we interviewed a Youth Leader from Bulawayo MDC Youth structures who said, "I was in Harare at the Morgan Tsvangirai House today (Thursday). I can tell you that the SG is adamant that no one will expel anyone, all those expelled must go back to their positions. the SG is not happy with the leadership of President Chamisa and is preparing to fight the Presidency at Congress. So the SG is using this opportunity of purging of Mayors and Deputy Mayors to defend them so that he consolidated structures around them as the Councillors who voted them and the structures in their wards will see the SG as the saviour who stopped Chamisa from causing divisions in the party."
