President Robert Mugabe has castigated the imposition of candidates and vote-buying saying the exercise is destroying his Zanu-PF party.
Addressing thousands of mourners at the National Heroes Acre for Edson Ncube's burial, Mugabe said the recent accusations of vote rigging that characterised the party's DCC elections have no room in the liberation party.
He said: "We don't want people who say don't vote for so and so...., you are destroying the party, do your work, let the people judge you, if they don't like you of if they like you."
Mugabe said Zanu PF is a party founded on democratic principles saying any deviation will not be tolerated.
Vice President Joice Mujuru, Vice President John Landa Nkomo, the First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe, Senate President Edna Madzongwe, Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku, service chiefs, cabinet ministers, war veterans and the family members were among the thousands of morners who bade farewell to Edison Ncube.
