Chamisa expells Bulawayo deputy mayor Tinashe Kambarami

The Opposition MDC has today expelled Bulawayo deputy mayor Tinashe Kambarami from the Party following his decision to stand for re election in a mock election held at MDC Bulawayo party offices on Monday.
Kambarami resigned from the deputy mayoral position on Sunday after being given 7 days ultimatum by the party leadership.
In a letter in possession of Bulawayo24., the Chief of Staff Sesel Zvidzai said, "Following your continued defiance of the President s directive that you recuse yourself from the Bulawayo Deputy Mayoral elections, this letter serves to inform you that you are hereby expelled from the party with immediate effect , in accordance with Section 89 of the MDC constitution.
"You are advised to immediately surrender all party properties in your possession and stop representing the party at any forum."
On Monday Kambarami retained his position as Deputy Mayor of Bulawayo uncontested after Councillor Mlandu Ncube chickened out of contesting.
Kambarami had verbally resigned from the Deputy Mayor position on Sunday after MDC Leader Nelson Chamisa dressed him down for disregarding the party whipping system that had instructed Mlandu Ncube to be Deputy Mayor.
