Opposition Leader Nelson Chamisa has finally stated his position on the controversy surrounding the MDC elective congress. He accused ZANU PF and the media for seeking to derail the agenda of MDC.
Said Chamisa, "Greetings to you my lovely friends. Thank you all for the support, encouragement, warmth and love. Thank you for believing.
I appreciate your whispers of advice, that avalanche of ideas and even beneficial criticism as we seek to make our country the best and the finest!"
"I do not understand what the noise is all about. Congress is coming. All positions are open for a democratic contest when the time comes. The only problem is attempts from outside seeking to destabilize the movement through interference and influence, "He went on.
"They are trying so hard but they will be resisted with full tenacity. And they shall fail!
"Our detractors are so restless until they break or divide us. We stand strong. We stand together!
"We need diversity, robust and effective press. We also need more capacity building for our representatives."
Recently there were reports that tensions have been simmering within the party with clear factions emerging since the crashing defeat at the July 30 polls.
The party's other vice president, Engineer Elias Mudzuri has indicated he will throw in his name to contest for the presidency post at congress.
The other faction however does not want Chamisa to be challenged.
