Vice President Retired General DR Constantino Chiwenga says Zanu-PF is at its strongest due to the unity prevailing in the party's leadership.

Chiwenga who was addressing thousands of people in Murombedzi reiterated that there is no vacancy in the presidency as President Emmerson Mnangagwa has just won a fresh mandate from the people.

Vice President Chiwenga said those harbouring notions of taking over power should think again as the ruling party is as united as ever with President Mnangagwa at the helm.

Chiwenga told thousands of people at a thank you rally at Murombedzi Growth Point that President Mnangagwa has a fresh mandate he got from the people who voted him into office.

He also criticised opposition leaders who mix church and politics likening them to the false prophets referred to in the Bible as wolves coming in sheep's clothing.

Meanwhile, the inaugural thank you rally was held in Mashonaland West where President Mnangagwa got 312 000 votes, the highest for the province since 1980.

Chairperson of the Zanu-PF party Oppah Muchinguri as well as the province's chairperson Ziyambi Ziyambi commended the party for the hard work.

In Zvimba district the President got 55 000 votes against MDC Alliance leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa's 26 000 in the July 30 elections.
