Zanu-PF says the defection of former Women's League Political Commissar and former Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Services, Tracey Mutinhiri is a non-event as she was already working with the MDC-T in government for regime change.

Zanu-PF says it is not shaken by the defection of Mrs Mutinhiri saying it was clear from the beginning that she had double standards as she was working to fulfill the wishes of the MDC-T whist she was still a member of Zanu-PF.

Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Rugare Gumbo says it should be a lesson to all Zanu-PF members to operate within the policies of the revolutionary party as the behaviour demonstrated by Mutinhiri lead to her expulsion.

"The party will not be shaken by such developments as its roots and foundations are deeply entrenched in the liberation struggle. As a party, we have been monitoring closely the unfolding events and we realised that Mutinhiri was no longer one of us as demonstrated by her behaviour in the Mashonaland East province. We had many reports concerning her operations so to us it's good riddance," said Gumbo.

The former Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Services was expelled from Zanu-PF after she was found guilty of violating the party's constitution, disloyalty as well as failing to conduct herself honestly and honorably, thereby bringing the revolutionary party into disrepute.
