Zanu-PF's Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology is set to open provincial schools in the country's 10 provinces as it works towards imparting fundamental ethos regarding the country's history among its members.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Zanu-PF interdistrict meeting in Chiredzi, Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology Principal Director Munyaradzi Machacha said though they have started recruiting ward-based trainers, they are in the process of identifying places in every province to build proper schools.
"We are working on ensuring every Zanu-PF member receives political orientation up to cell level and this has prompted us to work on establishing schools' in all the country's 10 provinces. At national level our school will be built in Mt Hampden and we have started recruiting ward-based trainers who will then train members in provinces, districts and at cell level," he said.
Zanu-PF Masvingo provincial vice chairman Ailess Baloyi said during the meeting they had an opportunity to tell their party leaders of the challenges they are facing at the same time being briefed on measures the government is working on to ensure economic stability in the country.
"We had a very fruitful meeting with our leaders from the headquarters who brought us a message of hope despite what the country is going through. We briefed them on the challenges we are facing from price increases by retail shops and transport owners, challenges faced by farmers and the issue of evictions which was recently resolved," he said.
The Chitepo School of Ideology was established by the ruling Zanu-PF party in order to facilitate political education to its members that they may be able to understand what the party stands for and be able to defend the country's sovereignty.
