Zanu-PF has castigated party members who indulge in vote buying saying they are destroying the party and future of the country.

Zanu-PF National Chairman, Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo told members of the Zimbabwe Ex-Political Prisoners, Detainees and Restrictees Association (ZEPPADRA) gathered at the party headquarters in Harare to resist all attempts to impose candidates or buy votes.

"Zanu-PF is a people's party and those who use money to buy votes or support must know that they are destroying the party and the future," said Ambassador Moyo.

Ambassador Moyo also urged ZEPPADRA members to work in collusion with party leadership structures in ensuring that the forthcoming elections are held in a free and fair environment without any violence or intimidation.

"No, no to violence. We don't want any violence in the forthcoming elections," he added.

Among the senior party leaders who attended the ZEPPADRA meeting were former Midlands Governor and Resident Minister, Cephas Msipa, the Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment, Saviour Kasukuwere, and Harare Province Chairman, Ambassador Amos Midzi.
